Safety is a top priority at Doorcy. With this tool, entering a building or switching a relay was only possible if someone had been granted access rights via the Doorcy app. Although this guaranteed safety, it also made Doorcy less user-friendly for occasional visitors. After all, buildings regularly have to deal with people who only need to use Doorcy once (or a few times). To make Doorcy faster and easier to use for these visitors, we came up with a solution that no longer requires downloading the app.
Wide range of applications Doorcy
Especially for those occasional users, we have rolled out a new feature that makes Doorcy even more versatile. From now on, Doorcy also works in combination with a standard QR code scanner on your smartphone. This is useful in many situations. Visitors who rent a space on a one-off basis, people who come to pick something up or deliver something, or other occasional users of a building: they are no longer required to download the Doorcy app.
An administrator creates a QR code for a scene or relay and displays it in a visible location. Arriving visitors simply open their standard QR code scanner, which automatically redirects them to a digital Doorcy code control panel. By entering the corresponding code, they grant themselves access or activate a scene/relay.
Temporary codes
After scanning, visitors must enter a code on their smartphone. To further increase security and user-friendliness, we are currently working on expanding this feature. In the future, it will be possible to send the access code along with a reservation. In that case, administrators must be able to indicate whether it is a one-time code (for an active reservation) or whether the code should always be usable. This new feature is currently still in the testing phase, during which we are changing the codes. Soon, administrators will also be able to change the code in the app.
