Greater control over your building with the new 'Forced switching' function

Posted on:

In a smart building, everything revolves around automation. But sometimes you want a gate to remain open during an event, or the front door to be locked during your vacation, regardless of what your automated schedules say. With the new "Force Switch" feature, you can prioritize your specific needs, exactly when you need them.

This important update provides extra security when you want to temporarily lock certain doors, lighting, or other components, or activate them permanently.

What's new?

In the Doorcy app, you will now see the options 'Automatic', 'Forced on' and 'Forced off' for relays and scenes. This clarification makes it immediately clear what happens when you switch a component manually. When you force a relay or scene, you will also receive a notification indicating that reservations or QR codes will temporarily have no effect on this functionality.

Practical applications

This feature comes in handy in various situations:

  • Going on vacation? Set the front door to 'Forced Off' and you can be sure it will remain closed, regardless of which scenes or reservations are active.

  • Are you organizing an event? With 'Forced open', an access gate remains open without other automations being able to close it.

  • Do you want to perform maintenance? Force specific components to shut down without the risk of them being accidentally activated.

Clearly visible in the app

In the Doorcy app, you can immediately see which components have been forced to switch in the device or scene overview. In normal automatic operation, you will see a clock icon. As soon as you force a component, this icon disappears so that you can see at a glance which components are no longer switching automatically.

This update makes building management with Doorcy even clearer and more secure. Would you like to know more about this or other Doorcy features? Please contact us.
