With the latest update from Doorcy, reservations can be started immediately via a QR code, without the need for expensive hardware or external systems. In addition, it is possible to issue a second PIN that only works once the main user has started the reservation. This means that you can now start reservations quickly and effortlessly, without manual actions or additional costs for hardware.
Let's take a sports hall as an example. Imagine that a reservation comes in from a soccer team that wants to use a hall from 10 to 11. After the reservation has been made, the team's coach is the first to arrive. He or she starts the reservation by simply scanning the QR code at the front door and entering the previously received PIN code on their smartphone. Doorcy recognizes the PIN code and knows which rights are linked to it. Doorcy "sees" that it is the coach and therefore starts the reservation. The door opens, the lights come on, and the heating starts.
Previously, an external system with hardware was always required to initiate a reservation via Doorcy, which entailed additional costs and complexity. With our update, that is now a thing of the past, and managing your location has become much smoother and more efficient. From now on, a QR code and PIN code are all you need.
An important part of this update is the advanced PIN code management. This allows you to assign different PIN codes to specific actions, creating a personalized and secure experience for your guests. There are two types of PIN codes you can use: a PIN code for the "open door scene" and a PIN code that links to specific reservations.
The PIN codes that are specifically linked to reservations are used, for example, by the team coach to start the reservation. When this PIN code is entered, the relevant actions are activated. These include opening the door, switching on the lights, and starting the heating for the soccer team's use of the hall.
In addition, there are PIN codes for the 'open door scene'. These PIN codes can be used, for example, by parents who take their children to soccer practice in the example mentioned above. With this PIN code, they can open the door and gain access to the facility, but they have no control over other functions such as lighting or heating.
The new PIN code management system is fully automated via the API. This means that you don't need to manually create or distribute PIN codes. Everything runs smoothly and automatically, giving you more time to focus on other aspects of location management.
