In 2021, the 'Hoge Nood' amendment was passed in the Meierijstad Municipal Council meeting. This meant that a disabled-accessible toilet had to be built in Schijndel. This MIVA toilet can be found in the Glazen Boerderij. The container space has been converted into a toilet. After this, the toilet had to be made accessible day and night to anyone who wanted to use it. This secure access is made possible by Doorcy.
Doorcy has devised a new solution for the MIVA toilet in the Glazen Boerderij. The Glazen Boerderij is a multifunctional building on the central market square in Schijndel, consisting of shops, restaurants, offices, and a wellness center. The MIVA toilet is a special toilet for people with disabilities, located on the market side. To access this toilet, visitors simply scan a QR code with their phone. The door then swings open and they can use the toilet. Everyone who is allowed to use the toilet has been given a code for this purpose. Now that visitors with disabilities no longer need assistance to reach and use the toilet, accessibility and privacy for these users has been improved.
Also accessible outside opening hours
Outside the opening hours of the Glass Farm, users can access the toilet via a QR code for a small fee. "We are pleased that this solution allows us to contribute to the accessibility and livability of Schijndel," said the mayor of Meierijstad.
Disable remote access
The property manager can also use Doorcy to disable access to the accessible toilet. This can be done during events, for example, to prevent misuse.
Improved safety and hygiene
By connecting Doorcy to the door to the disabled toilet, improved safety and hygiene can be guaranteed. It also benefits the convenience and flexibility of the manager, who can monitor the door to the toilet area remotely.
